Hunger exists, but it doesn't have to.
We know what needs to be done to end hunger in America. Workers must be paid living wages. Healthcare, housing and childcare must become affordable. Federal food programs like SNAP and WIC that help families through hardship must be expanded. At Hunger Free America, we're working to get that done.
Our organization has been fighting hunger in New York City for 37 years. In 2016, we expanded to make our mission national. As a national anti-hunger nonprofit, we work to decrease hunger in America by connecting families and individuals with federally-funded nutrition programs and advocating for nationwide policies needed to end hunger. This year, with more than 54 million Americans struggling against hunger, our work is more important than ever.
Thank you for joining us in making sure our neighbors can afford to put food on the table this holiday season and beyond. Every dollar makes a difference. A $10 donation allows our Benefits Specialists to connect a mother and her small children to more than $200 in benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children. A $30 donation pays for one household to receive $1,000 in food benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. $100 funds the printing of 1,000 copies to our Neighborhood Guides to Food & Assistance.
